In response to public concern following the recent confirmed outbreak of the deadly H5N1 strain of Avian Flu in Suffolk, infection control specialists, Adveticus, is issuing advice on how industry and individuals can take steps to protect themselves in the face of the expected Avian Flu Pandemic.
Brian O'Connell, MD of Adveticus Ltd, market-leader in hygiene and infection control, today explained why his company is encouraging people to consider purchasing respirators: "There is still much confusion about how, when and if the lethal strain of the H5N1 virus will mutate, pass to other species (including humans) and cause a pandemic. However, in the face of recent evidence showing that 1/5 of stray cats in Indonesia now carry H5N1, we believe that the British public can't afford to be complacent. This, coupled with the fact that there is no known vaccine for H5N1, points to the fact that a Pandemic will strike and that - when it does - the British public will be horribly ill-prepared for the consequences."
It is suggested by experts that should an Avian Flu Pandemic strike, up to a quarter of the UK population may become infected, with 50,000 deaths or more, by the end of the outbreak. Adveticus has used their websites (www.adveticus.co.uk, www.masksunlimited.co.uk ) to publish advice on how individuals, private companies and the public sector can best prepare and protect themselves. The company say they are also keen to act as "myth-busters", especially given the recent attention and speculation surrounding the events in Suffolk.
One of the myths Adveticus are keen to dispel concerns the claims surrounding the efficacy of surgical and respirator masks in providing protection against H5N1 infection. Mr O'Connell explains: "I agree with media reports that a surgical mask will not offer the protection needed. Indeed, the UK government currently recommends at least FFP3 respirators, as they will provide some level of protection, but there is no evidence that they have been proven effective against H5N1. In fact there have been reports that all of these masks may make things worse Adveticus now stock CE approved respirators, Triosyn T-3000 & T-5000V, which have been shown to trap and kill more than 99.99% of viruses and - when independently tested against Avian Influenza - have been proved to inactivate the virus."
Adveticus' Triosyn T-3000 and T-5000V respirators use cutting-edge technology and are the only proven CE marked disposable respirators on the market to offer this high level of protection. Adveticus are recommending Triosyn masks to those looking to significantly reduce their risk of infection from H5N1.
Mr O'Connell adds: "We expect that once the virus begins to spread to the human population, demand for Triosyn respirators is likely to outstrip supply, so we are encouraging individuals, employers and decision makers in the public sector to purchase these respirator masks now to protect themselves, their workers and the public at large from the H5N1 Virus."
Triosyn respirator masks are available to buy now from as little as just over £6 each, through the Adveticus websites atwww.adveticus.co.uk, www.masksunlimited.co.uk offering individuals and employers maximum protection at minimal cost.

Adveticus is a family business dedicated to bringing you market leading products which you can trust. Because we wanted to protect our children from Avian/Bird Flu, we now sell Triosyn respirators / masks. Why is Adveticus importing Avian /Bird Flu respirators/masks? We have been concerned about an Avian Flu Pandemic for some time. While searching for products to protect our children we encountered many different respirators and masks, but we were unsure which companies to trust and which products would prove to be the most effective. Fortunately, we came across Triosyn, who have developed a revolutionary new technology which kills viruses and bacteria. This has been used in the production of the T-3000 respirator. We were so impressed by the research and development of this product that we decided to introduce these so that we in the UK can share the protection afforded by this new technology.
